Portland-based Agincare has officially opened its latest care home, Norton Lees in Sheffield, marking a major milestone in the care provider’s nationwide growth.
Agincare Director Adam Luckhurst cut a ribbon at the home to officially mark the occasion, joining residents, care workers and local schoolchildren at a community open day celebration.

Adam said:
Welcoming Norton Lees into the Agincare family is a real honour. Wherever we go, we raise standards, build trust, and become a thriving part of the local community.
The Norton Lees acquisition strengthens Agincare’s presence in the north and follows other recent growth, including eight assisted living schemes in Somerset, new supported living services and the launch of not-for-profit children’s services this summer.
From its roots in a single care home in Weymouth, Agincare now delivers high-quality, person-centred care across 100 locations nationwide supported by a 4,000-strong team, and remains proudly independent with no external debt or private equity backing.
Agincare Group Chief Executive Raina Summerson said:
We’ve stayed true to our roots, growing sustainably and investing in our high-quality services and people, putting the communities we serve at the heart of everything we do. That’s how Agincare has weathered recessions, Covid, and built a trusted name in care over 40 years.

Phil Seddon is the Registered Manager at Norton Lees Care Home.
