Heroes Awards?

Agincare Heroes Awards pay tribute to our incredible teams and colleagues nationwide who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their work.

Tell us about the amazing Agincare team members who have made an exceptional difference in your life!

You or a loved one may draw on our care, be an Agincare colleague, a health and social care professional, or someone who works with our teams and workers.

Find our award categories below and submit your nomination by 15 March 2024.

Nominations will be reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges led by Agincare’s Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst and Chief Executive Raina Summerson.

Winners will be invited to an exclusive awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of all of our Agincare Heroes 2024!

Care Worker of the Year

This award recognises the vital role of the care worker in delivering excellent person-centred care and support true to Agincare’s standards and values, whatever the setting.

This outstanding, often unsung star, has demonstrated remarkable skill, resilience and compassion to go absolutely the extra mile above and beyond their normal care duties. Evidence of dedication and kindness with sensitive handling of matters of importance to those they support, will all be taken into account. They are aware of personal development, and look for opportunities to absorb knowledge and skills through formal training and informal opportunities to learn and improve.

Care Team of the Year

This award reflects essential behind the scenes work which takes place to enable direct care teams to consistently deliver high quality, personalised care and support to some of the most vulnerable in society. This team’s outstanding performance may also be key to Agincare’s ongoing year-on-year success and sustainable growth as a leading independent care provider nationwide.

Customer Service of the Year

This award recognises the team or individual that consistently goes above and beyond by displaying a positive attitude and embodying true Agincare values, even under the most challenging circumstances.

It may be that the nominee has repeatedly been ‘caught in the act’ of delivering exceptional service which impacts positively upon the internal or external customer experience. They communicate efficiently and effectively, collaborating and acting as a role model for colleagues.

Agincare Hero Award

The Agincare Hero Medal is our elite award. The medal is awarded to an exclusive band of Agincare team members who have performed an incredible act of valour, gallantry, or devotion that is deserving of recognition and reward. This could be in the line of their care duties or outside of work, but captures the spirit, courage and values of the Agincare family.

Apprentice of the Year

Awarded to an outstanding Agincare apprentice who has made a real difference to their work through an admirable commitment to their own personal development.

They may have applied their skills and knowledge to bring improvement, share learning, and become a champion or ambassador in the workplace.

Support Service of the Year

This award reflects essential behind the scenes work which takes place to enable direct care teams to consistently deliver high quality, personalised care and support to some of the most vulnerable in society.

This team’s outstanding performance may also be key to Agincare’s ongoing year-on-year success and sustainable growth as a leading independent care provider nationwide.

Registered Manager of the Year

This award will be made to an outstanding Registered Manager, who embodies Agincare’s values and behaviours, demonstrated by a consistently high level of skill, expertise and management abilities. The leadership of this Registered Manager has resulted in an exceptional outcome for clients, team members and service.

The Will Mitchell Award for Outstanding Achievement

This award is named in remembrance of Agincare colleague Will Mitchell, who sadly passed away at a young age in 2022. Will was dedicated to care, and passionate about Agincare. Will worked in many care branches and locations before taking a senior role in recruitment at Agincare Head Office. Will was much-loved with an infectious personality, and an inspiration to those around him.

The award will be presented to an exceptional individual who has made an incredible difference to the people they have supported, or to the team they are part of. It may be someone who has made a long-term outstanding contribution over the years, or excelled and inspired over the past 12 months.

Volunteer of the Year

This category recognises those unsung inspirational individuals who volunteer tirelessly, generously giving their time, enthusiasm and energy to support those who draw on Agincare’s services. This award aims to shine a light on someone who embodies the true spirit of volunteering, makes an outstanding commitment and exhibits a high level of motivation to make a difference. It could be a family carer coming into a care home, someone helping with visits, activities, trips out or supporting the work of any Agincare team. It may be someone whose length of volunteer service deserves to be recognised.

Outstanding Leader of the Year

This award recognises an exceptional leader, in any Agincare setting. They could be an apprentice, chef, care manager, or work in any role, but will live and breathe Agincare’s values. This leader will command respect, show passio

n, and demonstrate the ability to support, develop, and motivate their team whilst building the confidence and trust of everyone they come into contact with.

The Rising Award

This award singles out a shining light blazing a trail through Agincare. One to watch, they may be at the start of their career in care, growing quickly, or in a senior post - but whatever their role, they’ll be pulling up trees and getting noticed. It may be thanks to a truly outstanding can-do attitude, burning commitment to those they support, or an innovative initiative that is super-charging the way we work.

        2. All awards will be selected by a panel of judges led by Agincare’s Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst and Chief Executive Raina Summerson. 
        3. Nominations for Agincare Hero, Care Worker of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Registered Manager of the Year, Outstanding Leader of the Year, Rising Star of the Year and the Will Mitchell Award must be for one employee only
        4. Nomination for Care Team of the Year must be for one team only
        5. Nomination for Customer Service Team or Individual of the Year or Support Service Team or Individual of the Year must be for one team or one individual only
        6. There is no limit to the number of nominations that you can make
        7. Being nominated does not guarantee the nominee wins the award
