You care, so do we

Kindness deserves reward

Our awesome care workers come from all walks of life with a range of backgrounds and life stories, but have one thing in common – the heart to care.

Agincare puts people first. It’s what we do. And that goes for more than just our clients. We value our care workers. We listen to them and learn from them, and are making some big changes.

We never lose sight of our roots in family and community, and are looking for incredible people that share our passion for caring.

It’s about respect

We know care work requires dedication, skill and compassion, and want to make our appreciation clear. It’s been an extraordinary 18 months through the Covid pandemic with care worker shortages and promises of reform and change by the government.

We have made our views known to government about what they can do to appreciate, reward and respect care workers. We can’t force big changes at government level. But we are determined to make working for Agincare absolutely the best experience.

Work with heart that puts people first

Agincare has already been named as one of the best companies to work for on Indeed. And we were proud to be named as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’. We also won best home care team in the southwest at the Great British Care Awards.  But we want to be even better.

We listened and learnt from our teams as part of a comprehensive review of how we look after our people. A new people plan, drawn up with our teams, spearheads real change as a result.

It follows each candidate’s journey with Agincare, from making job applications quick and easy through to paid induction training, with a new reward and recognition scheme and ongoing development. We want to not only to welcome lots of new recruits, but build a great workplace experience for every team member in an environment where they can flourish and build their career.

It benefits everyone that works for us, and, ultimately, everyone that we support and deliver care for too. We know change won’t happen overnight, and will take time, but are committed to making things even better. This is just the beginning.

Family values

We never lose sight of our roots in family and community.  This year marks 35 years since our founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst started his first care home in Weymouth, Dorset.

Since then we’ve grown to be one of the largest care providers in the country with some 3,500 team members delivering high quality care from over 50 locations nationwide.

We are still family-run, and proud to be one of the few companies nationwide that offer a comprehensive range of high quality care services that tailors care to people as their needs change.

Our new people plan sees new mission and vision statements with authentic values – the first step to help every team member truly feel part of the Agincare family.
