About us

Unlike many other care companies, despite our success and rapid growth, Agincare has remained family-owned with no external investors.

Derek Luckhurst opened his first care home in Weymouth in 1986. Since then Agincare has grown to become one of the largest independent care providers in the UK, employing more than 3,500 staff across 50 locations.

We deliver major contracts for many large public sector organisations, as well as delivering care services to a large and growing number of self-funding clients. The services we provide for private and public sector clients include:

Our vision

Our Group Board has an agreed Vision for Agincare to achieve continued growth and a national presence through self-funded expansion and diversification of services.

Unlike many other care companies, despite our success and rapid growth, Agincare has remained family-owned with no external investors. We are a local and caring company driven by people with a passion for what they do.

Our mission

To continue our sustainable growth of many years by providing a holistic range of high-quality community care services nationally and honouring the gravity of this responsibility to each team member and to the people who we support.

Our values

Our Values underpin all that we do and reflect what we at Agincare value in our daily work:

  • Value our customers and fellow employees
  • Achieve our goals and aspirations
  • Learn and encourage a culture of knowledge, expertise and accountability
  • Understand our business, our customers and fellow employees
  • Excel in everything we do

The benefits of being a large care group

We believe our high level of customer satisfaction is largely down to our focus on forging local relationships and the quality of our service.

And being part of a major care group brings benefits, such as our ability to build service capability and financial capacity to respond to clients’ needs. We pride ourselves in finding solutions and working with others in innovative ways.

A learning organisation

Being part of a large care organisation has also helped us foster a learning culture across the whole group. Lessons and improvements from one part of the business can be shared through every part of Agincare.

AT – Husband of Resident

Very satisfied with overall care. I visit most days and have only experienced caring and dignified treatment administered with a smile or kind word, even in difficult circumstances.

Avril N – Daughter of Resident

Agincourt is a home from home, lovely en-suite rooms with all your own things around you. Even hubby’s dogs can come along to visit which is wonderful for him. The care cannot be faulted compassionate, dignified and extremely thoughtful 24/7.
