A day in the life of Our Registered Manager/Lead Nurse
As Registered Manager/Lead Nurse, you’ll lead the delivery of safe, effective, nurse-led person-centred care, supporting adults with physical disabilities, complex health needs, and learning disabilities, promoting independence, dignity, choice and positive outcomes. Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC – rated Good) to provide accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care, the home delivers specialist care within a safe, homely environment supported by a multidisciplinary team, including nursing professionals and experienced support staff. As the service lead, you’ll champion best practice, ensure compliance, and drive high standards across the service.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering outstanding nursing care and support
Ensuring individuals receive personalised support that promotes independence, dignity, and inclusion, with care plans that reflect their evolving needs. - Driving quality and compliance
Overseeing CQC registration and ensuring the service meet regulatory requirements, maintaining safe, effective, and well-led services. - Leading and developing teams
Managing the team and recruitment, training, and ongoing performance development. - Ensuring accountability
Managing safeguarding, incidents, and complaints, while working closely with the Regional Operations Director to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance.
What we’re looking for
- Nurse registration is essential, along with active NMC pin.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Lead Nurse is highly desirable.
- Strong experience within a residential care service, particularly in the physical disabilities, complex health and/or learning disabilities sector.
- Sound knowledge of the adult social care sector and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership and management experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- A flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the service.
