Our annual Agincare Heroes Awards recognise and celebrate incredible team members nominated by you. The awards pay tribute to the teams and colleagues nationwide who have demonstrated outstanding excellence.
Over 100 team members from across Agincare’s 6,000 strong workforce nationwide gathered at the magical Chewton Glen Hotel in the New Forest to celebrate the Agincare Heroes Awards 2026.
Winners and highly commended colleagues came together in a day packed with recognition, pride and plenty of joy.
The event had an extra special reason to celebrate with 2026 marking the 40th anniversary since Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst started his very first care home.

The Agincare Hero Medal is our elite award – this year presented to Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst (pictured above with Agincare Group Chief Executive Raina Summerson) in recognition of the extraordinary contribution he has made to care over the last 40 years since starting his first care home in Weymouth. The medal is awarded to an exclusive band of Agincare team members who have performed an incredible act of valour, gallantry, or devotion that is deserving of recognition and reward. This could be in the line of their care duties or outside of work, but captures the spirit, courage and values of the Agincare family. He joins five other colleagues from Agincare as worthy recipients of the Agincare Hero Medal in 2026 (see below).
