The team at our Home Care service in Oxford are celebrating after being rated ‘Good’ overall in all key areas (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led) following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in a report published 3rd April.

The inspection was carried out by a CQC inspector and an ‘Expert by Experience’ – someone who has personal experience of the same type of care service, of whose findings impact on the inspector’s judgement.

The CQC report observed that service users felt safe, supported by team members who knew them well. Relatives were always involved in the decision making about the care of their loved ones, with regular reviews held where people’s needs changed.

The report also found the service to be confident and knowledgeable of their care responsibilities, ensuring that service users had the right to make their own decisions, treated with respect and dignity.

Bohdana Spitalnikova, Registered Manager of Oxford Home Care service, said:

“I am very proud of the team for achieving a ‘Good’ CQC rating, especially in all five key areas.

“We are a close-knit, hardworking team committed to the people who draw on our services, giving them the care and support to live independently in their own homes.

“Our incredible team have demonstrated the high-quality, person-centred care that has made us proud to be part of the Oxford community.”
