What is Professional Care Workers’ Week?

18-24th September marks Professional Care Worker’s Week 2023 – a great annual campaign from the Care Worker’s Charity to recognise and raise awareness of the life-changing work that professional care workers do every day.

How we joined in with Professional Care Workers’ Week 2023

On Monday, Agincare Chief Executive Raina Summerson, alongside leading figures in health and social care, took part in a webinar titled ‘The When’.

Raina and the panel discussed different ways of leading teams in different scenarios, and how to support team members every step of the way.

Whilst on Tuesday, Jacqueline Sylver from Furlong Close, our supported living service in Rowde, Wiltshire, participated in a care workers roundtable.

Jacqueline and the panel discussed some of the pressing issues and challenges facing social care today and what changes can be made for the future.

Here’s how our care teams celebrated Professional Care Workers’ Week

Jasmine Knox, Deputy Manager of our Andover home care service, shared this lovely collage of photos of her team enjoying time with clients.

Care is so much more than just an occupation, it’s so rewarding to know you make a real difference.

Our Poole home care team sent us this lovely photo of them enjoying a well-earned cake break!

We received a lovely message of thanks from the Live-in care South West managers to all their care workers

We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of our care workers. We want you to know how much we appreciate and value each and every one of you. We wouldn’t be where we are with you all. Your hard work and dedication makes us feels so proud. Happy Professional Care Workers’ Week to you all – be proud! From Siobhan, Alison, Hayley, Jess, David, Sarah and Daniela.

Registered Manager Louise Williams, said:

“It is really rewarding to hear that our care team are happy in their roles and making a real difference to people in the community who need it the most”.

How we support the Care Workers’ Charity

Agincare are proud to be supporters of the Care Workers’ Charity – a brilliant charity that supports care workers in financial need but also champions their cause in and outside of the sector.

£500 challenge

We are pleased to be a founding member of the £500 challenge – a campaign that encourages organisations across the adult social care sector to commit to an annual donation of £500, the same as an average grant the CWC awards to a care worker experiencing financial hardship.

Regular fundraising activities

Our teams regularly hold fundraising activities for the Care Worker’s Charity throughout the year.

Here’s a recent ‘Bake Off’ style cake sale from our Recruitment team at our Head Office in Portland.
