Professionals from across healthcare, legal, case management and the charity sector will come together on 12 May 2026 for a new seminar focused on improving outcomes for people following traumatic injury. Agincare is hosting the free Injury to Independence event at Southampton Football Club, bringing together key voices from across the recovery pathway to explore how greater collaboration can support individuals to regain independence.
The seminar responds to a growing challenge within complex injury care: while individual parts of the system are working hard to deliver support, the overall journey from injury to independence can often be fragmented. Delays in discharge, inconsistent care provision and a lack of continuity can all impact long-term outcomes, highlighting the need for stronger, more joined-up working across disciplines.

Agincare Managing Director Sam Mayes said:
The event will create a space for professionals to share perspectives, challenge thinking and build the connections needed to improve coordination in practice. Attendees will hear from expert speakers representing healthcare, legal and rehabilitation services, alongside a personal perspective that brings to life the real-world impact of the care journey.
Speakers include representatives from Circle Health Group, Bevan Brittan, Headway, and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, each offering insight into different stages of the recovery journey. The Injury to Independence seminar will run from 9:30am to 2:00pm, with time for networking and discussion built into the programme. The event is free to attend, but places are limited.
The seminar also marks the launch of our Complex Injury Partnership Programme (CIPP) – a new initiative designed to support professionals working within complex injury by improving coordination, stabilising care packages and helping bridge gaps between services. By aligning expertise across sectors, CIPP aims to reduce friction within the system and enable more consistent, person-centred outcomes.
The complex injury partnership has been shaped by the personal experience of Agincare Director and Shareholder Adam Luckhurst who played a key role in its development. Adam said:
Growing up in a care-focused family, I understood the importance of good care. It became deeply personal when my father was seriously injured, and later when a close friend sustained a traumatic brain injury.
Seeing first-hand how difficult it can be for families to navigate complex systems during a crisis highlighted a clear gap in joined-up provision, and that is exactly what the complex injury partnership is designed to address,” added Adam.
