Agincare live-in care Woking leads the way across Surrey

January 13, 2025

Behind the doors of an unassuming office lies the new nerve centre of our live-in care Woking team who are helping to power a quiet revolution in care to improve people’s lives across Surrey

Registered Manager Emma Dunthorne, Care Co-ordinator Kirsty Adlam, Field Care Supervisor Jade Wilsden, Team Admin Sarah Back and Assessor Juhyeon Kim support a team of highly trained care workers bringing live-in care to their local community.

The idea behind live-in care is simple yet can be life-changing. It sees a professional, carefully matched care worker move into a client’s home to provide round-the-clock support tailored to each person’s individual needs and wishes.

Manager Emma said:

We are excited to open a new office and bring our live-in care services to more people in Woking and the wider Surrey area.

Live-in care is growing in popularity as a way to live well in older age. It’s a very credible alternative to more well-known options like nursing homes or assisted living, and compares very favourably in cost too.

Age UK reports that 1.4milion people aged 50 or over in England say they often feel lonely, and this is set to rise to an estimated 2million by 2026.  As well as delivering practical care and support, live-in care also provides companionship to help combat feelings of loneliness which can dramatically affect well-being and quality of life.

Live-in care in Woking

A survey by the Live-in Care Hub found that nearly three-quarters of people want to stay in their own homes as they get older, and 61 per cent would still prefer this even if they needed significant care. Emma adds:

“Live-in care also helps people stay independent at home for longer, which can be especially beneficial for those living with dementia, allowing them to remain in familiar surroundings with their belongings, friends, family and pets around them.

The care is completely tailored to each person’s individual needs and is adaptable to younger adults too, even where more complex conditions are involved.

Our live-in care in Woking team is currently offering a free no-obligation consultation or assessment to help people decide if live-in care is right for them.

Unlike introductory care agencies, our live-in care provides a fully managed service which not only allows the team to get to know all their clients and care workers closely, but means that holidays, breaks and illness are all covered, with support and back-up on hand to support any eventuality. Our live-in care services are rated ‘Good’ by the independent health and social care regulator the Care Quality Commission.
