Sunnymeade is a beautiful and vibrant care home, situated close to the town of Chard; with shops and other local amenities within easy reach. Accommodation at Sunnymeade Care Home comprises of five separate ground floor spaces with their own lounge, dining room and kitchenette which residents and their guests can use.
Each of the 50 bedrooms is fitted with a nurse call system and has direct access to the colourful communal gardens. Many rooms also have en-suites and can accommodate couples.
Our home provides 24-hour a day tailored care in a home-from-home setting, which you are encouraged to personalise and make your own. Sunnymeade is fully equipped with everything you need and our team ensure that every detail is to your liking; helping you feel comfortable and settled as soon as you move in.
Social activities
There’s something to suit everyone in our social activities programme, from entertainment, exercise and flower arranging to arts and crafts, coffee mornings, cooking and much more.
Enjoy our vibrant garden with its beautiful wildlife and large outdoor seating area.
We often have movie nights in our lounge with popcorn, a glass of wine, and films selected by our residents.

Our talented chefs create delicious and inspirational menus using quality ingredients sourced locally. We choose ingredients that deliver maximum taste and nutritional benefit whilst minimising environmental impact.
Our menus offer a varied, satisfying and frequently refreshed menu of seasonal dishes which are a feast for both body and soul. We are very happy to accommodate dietary requirements and will ensure all of your meals meet your needs.
Bedrooms
We have 50 bedrooms at Sunnymeade Care Home, with a range of room sizes, including many that can accommodate couples. The majority of rooms have en-suites and those without have accessible toilets, bathrooms or wet rooms within easy reach.
The accommodation is divided into five ground floor units, allowing each room to have direct access into the vibrant garden. Each unit has its own lounge, bathroom and kitchen for residents and guests to use. You also have the opportunity to use the care homes other communal areas such as dining area and join in with activities should you wish.
The bedrooms are a blank canvas for you to personalise with your own photos, pictures and furniture to help you feel at home. It also helps our care team understand what’s important to you.
Gardens
Sunnymeade Care Home is set within lovely, vibrant gardens where you can join in with outdoor activities or simply enjoy being outside. The garden has level access, a lawn area and a patio. If you enjoy watching the wildlife then our garden is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon, surrounded by evergreens and flowering shrubbery.
Within our garden we have a variety of seating areas with tables and chairs for you to utilise if and when you desire. This is the perfect area to relax, read a book or have afternoon tea.
Very happy with Mum’s respite stay, right from the preliminary visit to discharge. All staff we met were kind and conscientious. Lovely welcome with flowers and a card. Room provided all that was needed, peace and quiet, a view onto the garden but easy access to the communal area where people can make their own drinks and snacks and so maintain some independence. Pleasant laid-back atmosphere. Mum enjoyed having hair and nails done, as well as the activities she attended. She loved having baths, and a warm drink each night, a real treat.
Can’t fault communication with Sunnymeade during her stay, staff easily accessible and very reassuring. They were extremely understanding and patient, which allowed us some relaxation time. We knew Mum was in good hands.

My mother goes to day-care at Sunnymeade three days, sooner to be four days per well. It is so good for her mental welfare. Mum has settled in well and really enjoys all the activities. She has made friendly and loves meeting up for chats, coffee and biscuits. The staff are brilliant and bring out the best in Mum. I cannot praise the staff enough. She enjoys the lunches too, and they accommodate her small appetite. Everything is bright and welcoming.
