My mother in law has just returned home after a couple of weeks respite care. The staff were all brilliant in the home, it was clean, efficient and friendly. There was a Covid outbreak whilst she was staying there and everything was dealt with professionally and with minimal disruption to the residents. The food was excellent and plentiful which aided my mother in laws’ recovery greatly. If she ever needed respite care again, myself and her son would be more than happy for her to spend time there again. Thank you for looking after Mary so well.

Funding may be available from your local authority. Firstly, they will check how much help and what kind of care you need: this is the needs assessment. Following on from that, the free financial assessment calculates the total cost of care and how much you’ll need to contribute.
If you don’t want a financial assessment you can choose to pay for your care home yourself – this is called self-funding.
