We are pleased to announce that Agincare is now the operator of five care and nursing homes in Gloucestershire, bringing the total of care and nursing homes we operate nationwide to 39, underlining Agincare’s position as a leading independent provider.
The addition of the five homes follows a comprehensive and competitive selection process by Gloucestershire County Council earlier last year. The homes are:
- The Coombs in Coleford
- Rodley House in Lydney
- Henlow Court in Dursley
- Grevill House in Cheltenham
- Paternoster House in Cirencester

Bright future for care homes in Gloucestershire
We have worked closely with Gloucestershire County Council to ensure a smooth transition takes place at the homes, which can together support 223 publicly-funded and self-funded residents. The handover sees the existing teams transferred to Agincare so that jobs are protected and residents continue to be supported by the people they know and trust.
Agincare Group Chief Executive Raina Summerson said:
We are delighted to warmly welcome residents, relatives and teams at the homes to Agincare, and look forward to getting to know them and their local communities very well in the coming weeks.
With 40 years of experience in delivering high-quality care in the community we have managed numerous transfers from local authorities, charities, and independent providers. That means we are aware of the concerns of people during such changes, and the importance of providing reassurance and communicating effectively throughout.
The Gloucestershire homes join our expanding network of 170+ locations nationwide, including  39 high-quality residential and nursing homes, many with long-standing partnerships with local councils. We already deliver a variety of services across the region, including in Swindon and Wiltshire, Oxford, Worcester, Herefordshire and Bristol.
