Mental health conditions are not a sign of weakness or a personal failing. They affect people in different ways, and each person experiences challenges and strengths uniquely. Everyone’s journey is individual, and support should be tailored to help them live well and maintain independence.

One in four adults experiences at least one diagnosable mental health problem in any given year. Anyone can be affected and at any time in their lives. If you are affected, we’re here to help.

Our experienced care professionals offer flexible support through live-in care, home care, and our care and nursing homes. We adapt our approach to each person’s individual communication style, routines, and preferences to ensure comfort, understanding, and consistency.

We go the extra mile to understand what you need. This covers not only your care and support needs, but also what is important to you such as hobbies, cultural and religious preferences and your social and family commitments.

Our mental health support services are designed to promote independence, confidence, coping skills, and quality of life. Depending on your needs, care may include 24-hour live-in support for ongoing assistance, regular home visits for daily support, or tailored care within one of our care and nursing homes.

Clinical lead Cher

Meet Cher – Our Clinical Lead

Cher has enjoyed a long and varied career in health and social care across Europe and the UK. A registered nurse, she set up her own domiciliary care service in Monaco, later expanding it into France, supporting people with complex care needs. Before joining Agincare in April 2023, Cher worked for the DWP in disability analysis and as a Mental Function Champion. Cher oversees the clinical aspects of our live-in care service, including quality assurance, technical competency, and training.

F.J. spent two and a half years in hospital under the Mental Health Act, living with severe OCD, anxiety, and depression. Discharge was complicated by complex housing and care needs, alongside safeguarding risks. Frequent changes of social workers created further instability, making it difficult for F.J. to feel secure or supported.

Hope returned when Agincare was identified as the right provider to support F.J.’s move back into the community. With consistent oversight from our Clinical Lead, a personalised care plan was created to meet both F.J.’s medical and emotional needs. Suitable housing was adapted, including the addition of two bathrooms, and daily pre-discharge visits built trust and familiarity before the move. Live-in care was introduced with active involvement from F.J.’s family, ensuring continuity and reassurance.

The impact was immediate and significant. Morning routines were streamlined, reducing the time from three hours to just one. Relationships with family, particularly F.J.’s mother, were rebuilt, and F.J. became increasingly engaged in community and social activities. There have been no hospital readmission’s, no placement breakdowns, and the support extended to pregnancy care, safe medication management, and advocacy at Child Protection meetings.
