Social connection and education play a vital role in wellbeing, independence and long-term outcomes following a complex injury or complex condition.

Our social and education support focuses on helping people reconnect with their communities, build confidence and access meaningful learning opportunities at every stage of life.

We understand that recovery is not just about clinical needs, it is about regaining purpose, building relationships and taking part in everyday life. Every support plan is tailored to the individual, considering abilities, preferences and long-term aspirations, ensuring that people are supported to move forward with confidence, dignity and choice.

Supporting transitions in education

Transitions can be challenging, especially for young people living with complex conditions. We provide structured, compassionate support to help individuals and families navigate key moments of change with confidence and clarity. By planning carefully and working closely with families, schools, colleges and professional teams, we help ensure continuity, stability and clear communication throughout each stage.

Working with families and professionals

Social and education support works best when everyone involved collaborates closely. We partner with families, case managers, legal professionals, education providers and therapists to ensure support is coordinated, joined up and consistent with wider goals. Clear communication, practical problem-solving and advocacy help families feel informed, involved and reassured at every stage.

  •  Maintaining regular communication and updates
  • Coordinating support across social and education settings
  • Providing practical problem-solving and advocacy
  • Ensuring support plans remain realistic, achievable and responsive to change

By creating a strong, collaborative network around each individual, we ensure interventions are holistic, aligned and effective, with families seen as partners guiding the journey.

Agincare’s impact

Accident to Adventure: Brendon’s Holiday Dream

For Brendon, going on holiday with his girlfriend had long been a lifelong dream, something he never believed would be possible. After sustaining a severe spinal injury in an accident at the age of 13, Brendon is quadriplegic and requires hoisting for all transfers. He also requires supra pubic catheter care and is at risk of autonomic dysreflexia. Because of the complexity and risks involved, he had never felt confident travelling abroad before.

Thanks to Agincare, and the dedication of live-in care worker Rosina, that dream became a reality with a sunny getaway to Benidorm. Rosina went above and beyond to ensure Brendon had the correct facilities and support in place throughout the holiday, giving him and his girlfriend the confidence to travel safely and enjoy the experience fully.

Following Brendon’s care plan closely throughout the trip, Rosina ensured his needs were fully understood and supported at every stage. This meant Brendon could travel confidently, knowing his safety and wellbeing were always the priority.

The holiday was filled with unforgettable moments, including dancing, cabaret shows, relaxing on the beach, and karaoke. Rosina helped facilitate each experience, making sure Brendon and his girlfriend could enjoy new surroundings, create lasting memories, and share moments of fun and connection without worry.

This trip shows how specialist live in care goes beyond meeting day to day care requirements. It supports people to achieve life goals they once thought were impossible, and to focus on what truly matters to them.
