Agincare named in ‘1000 companies to inspire Britain’

Published: Tuesday 24th November 2020

We are proud to have been named as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’. The 2020 report recognises the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

Agincare supports people across England with live-in care, residential care and home care services. The company began in 1986 when our founder and chairman Derek Luckhurst bought his first care home in Weymouth.

We have since grown to become one of the largest independent providers of care across England, employing more than 3,500 people. We have home care branches across the country, manage care homes from Weymouth to Derby and provide 24-hour live-in care in people’s homes nationwide.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, live-in care has become known as a particularly safe form of care. A professional care worker lives with you in your home to give you and your family total reassurance and peace of mind.

Our home care teams support clients as many times a day or a week as they need. This support ranges from personal care through to companionship, feeding pets, doing the shopping, cleaning, and making sure our clients take their medication correctly.

Our friendly, highly-trained staff manage our care homes, nursing homes and retirement villages to give residents comfort, security and the support they need. Despite the pandemic, there is joy and fun in all our care homes, with care teams and our residents joining in every day.

As well as delivering care services to a large and growing number of self-funding clients we deliver major contracts for many large public sector organisations.

Still proudly family-owned, Agincare has expanded over the years by offering local authorities and private clients quality care at a competitive price. Our live-in care, care homes and home care services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and 90% of our reviews on independent review site Trustpilot rate us ‘excellent’ or ‘great’.

Our CEO, Raina Summerson, said:

I am proud that Agincare is included here, because in these times the fact that we’re still vibrant, growing and helping the economy is important to our teams and customers. We are sustainable, innovative and resilient, and I am extremely grateful to our teams who make this possible.

London Stock Exchange Group CEO, David Schwimmer, added:

This report highlights the vital role of SMEs in driving economic growth, leading innovation and providing jobs across the UK. In this challenging year for businesses, it is more important than ever to shine a light on these stories of resilience and entrepreneurship.
