Our team at Trafalgar Care Home in Weymouth are celebrating after being rated ‘Good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC report saw the service rated ‘Good’ in two key areas: Safe and Well-led. The other areas: Effective, Caring and Responsive were already rated as ‘Good’ from a previous inspection in 2021 – giving Trafalgar a ‘Good’ rating overall. Trafalgar joins our other care homes in Weymouth, Agincourt and Crecy, as rated ‘Good’ overall by the CQC.

Trafalgar Care Home is Good
The inspection was carried out by a CQC inspector and an ‘Expert by Experience’ – someone who has personal experience of the same type of care service, of whose findings impact on the inspector’s judgement.
The inspection report noted that residents of Trafalgar felt safe and relaxed, and cared for by kind team members. Voices from the residents were always sought, either through informal conversation or through the newly-formed residents’ committee, which actioned requests and ideas, such as a new notice board in the communal area.
Visiting professionals were also interviewed about their experience of the care team and leadership: providing positive feedback on the responsiveness and communication from Trafalgar. The report also found the Trafalgar care team to be supportive and committed to each other, who in turn felt valued by the senior staff and Registered Manager Zoe Price (pictured below).
