Edgehill Care Home welcomes visits under new Covid guidelines

Edgehill Care Home welcomed its first visitors under new Covid guidance for care and nursing homes on 8 March.

Among the first residents to welcome a visitor was Edna Donnelly who met daughter Sue Willis.

Edna has her own part of the garden at Edgehill, our care home in Swindon that she likes to spend time in, and the pair have been out together doing some gardening during the visit.

Sue said:

It’s just amazing to be able to come and in spend time with Mum. It feels like Christmas!

Edgehill Care Home in Liden, Swindon is Covid free, continues to carry out regular testing and is accepting new residents.

Residents and care home workers are looking forward to receiving more regular visits now that Government lockdown restrictions have started to ease.

Lisa Edwards, Registered Manager of Edgehill Care Home said:

I am delighted that we have got to the point of hosting regular visits with less restrictions; and being able to welcome new residents and provide them with high quality support and specialist care.

“The whole team at Edgehill Care Home has pulled together with residents and their families after what has been a hard year all round, and we now have the prospect of some brighter days ahead.

Operators Agincare, one of the country’s largest independent care providers, has welcomed the Government’s announcement to ease visit restrictions.

The vaccination roll-out of residents at our Edgehill Care Home is very pleasing, with any remaining residents and staff being vaccinated as soon as they are able.
