Agincare appoints top training expert as Non-Executive Director

Published: Thursday 1st April 2021

We’ve boosted our Training Now board with the appointment of care sector training and learning expert Andy Tilden as a Non-Executive Director.

Andy will attend board meetings and also offer support, advice and challenge to our Training Now team, which delivers courses to Agincare’s own workforce – some 3,500 people nationwide – as well as to learners from other organisations across the country.

Andy brings considerable skills, knowledge and experience in training and learning standards in the care sector.

His most recent position was Operations Director with Skills for Care, and as a member of the leadership team he was responsible for the strategic and operational running of the company.

Other roles have included starting up a learning and training company, working with the NHS, and course manager, lecturer and tutor for care at Weston College.

Andy possesses a Master in Business Administration from the University of West of England, and sees his appointment with Training Now as a return to an early career spent in wide-ranging social work roles after graduating from Bristol and Birmingham universities.

Andy said:

I’m very aware of Agincare’s work in the community and the drive of Training Now to provide great opportunities to help the workforce make a real difference to improve the lives of the people they support.

My most recent roles have concentrated on national strategy and operations, so the opportunity to get involved with work more associated with developing the workforce and ultimately helping those who receive care is something that very much appeals to me.

Training Now specialises in delivering practical social care, education and business apprenticeships, both in-house for Agincare workers and for learners from other organisations nationwide.

It also delivers bespoke short courses, professional qualifications and offers careers advice, support, coaching and more.
