Why choose live-in Alzheimer’s care from Agincare?

What makes our live-in care service special is that we fully manage it. Other live-in care services – such as introductory services – offer less protection and fewer guarantees for the same price.

We go the extra mile. We employ and pay the care worker, which means we have a duty of care. For example, if your care worker is ill, it’s our job to find someone to replace them.

We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission. This gives you a higher level of protection and peace of mind, knowing there’s a professional team managing your care. We also guarantee the training, supervision and support of our care staff.

And we’re always at the end of a phone should you need support.

On top of all that:

  • We are a family-owned care provider, offering reliable and professional care since 1986
  • We are one of the largest care groups in England with more than 3500 staff providing a range of care services, including domiciliary care and care homes, as well as live-in care
  • 90% of our customers rate us ‘excellent’ or ‘great’
  • All our care staff are enhanced DBS (police) checked
  • All our care staff are English-speaking
  • We have a unique ‘person-first’ approach to care, meaning we take the time to fully understand someone’s needs and situation, so we can provide appropriate care

Our personal approach to arranging your live-in care

We understand that having someone coming to live in your house can be a big step. That’s why we take so much care matching client and live-in care worker.

We match a care worker to you through a comprehensive assessment and matching process done by people, not a computer. We take pride in our personal approach to arranging your live-in care.

We have a rigorous process to make sure we only recruit the right live-in care staff, rejecting many more candidates than we recruit. We look for hard-working individuals with a special blend of compassion, common sense, reliability and a great sense of humour.

We will come to your home to discuss a tailored package face-to-face with you. We want to fully understand your needs, home situation, likes and dislikes. Then we go away to consider which of our care staff would be the best match.

We have 700 trained and qualified live-in care staff on our books, all with their own mix of experience, qualifications, background and interests – there will be someone to suit you and your situation.

We return to you with two or three profiles to consider.

What do I need to provide?

Our care worker will need a bedroom and is entitled to a two-hour break each day (or 14 hours a week). They will also need somewhere to keep their clothes, and access to a bathroom and a kitchen. While they are on call for 24 hours a day, minimal interruptions during the night are expected.

If this does not suit your needs, 24-hour care or a waking night option is available.

The cost of live-in Alzheimer’s care

Live-in care is an affordable alternative to moving into a care home. The cost of live-in care depends on the level of care required and funding may be available. Our price is based on your needs, not where you live or who you are.

Live-in care: avoid selling your family home

Having to sell the family home to pay for care is understandably unpopular. However, if you are still living in your home it cannot be taken into account as an asset when calculating the cost of care.

Therefore, your home remains yours to bequeath or do with as you wish. This is particularly relevant for people with combined assets amounting to more than £23,250 (the point at which clients become responsible for the full cost of their care).
