We are proud to announce that experienced care professional Cher Goodyer-El Meheiry has been appointed as Clinical Lead for our live-in care service.
Cher oversees all clinical aspects of our live-in care service, ensuring that each care worker receives the right training to understand their client’s needs and conditions.
These include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, strokes, acquired brain injury, motor neurone disease, Functional neurological disorder, Parkinson’s, complex auto-immune disorders, and more.
Cher plays an important role in supporting clients with complex needs in every step of the process, from initial care assessment, care worker selection and the delivery of the care package.
As part of the quality control of the live-in care service, Cher regularly visits care workers to ensure they are delivering the best care possible and meeting the needs of their client. She is also in regular contact with the family and loved ones of clients – making sure that their opinions and views are actioned.
Having spent her entire professional career in the health and social care sector, Cher’s field of expertise includes neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation, cardio-thoracic surgery, community nursing, disability analysis, sectioned adults, dementia, mental health, and addiction.
Cher is very pleased to join the Agincare live-in care team, saying:
“I am excited to join the Agincare live-in care team as Clinical Lead at such an exciting time as the service continues to go from strength to strength.
“I take great pride in the high-quality care we deliver and am always keen to involve family and loved ones every step of the way.
“I am very proud to use my knowledge and expertise to help those in the community that need it the most.”
Before joining Agincare, Cher enjoyed a long and varied career in the health and social care sector working across the UK and Europe.
After many years as a registered nurse in the UK, Cher ran her own domiciliary care service looking after people with complex and technical needs in Monaco, and later in France.
Cher’s latter career saw her join the Civil Service as a Disability Assessor for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). As part of this role, Cher was appointed as a Mental Function Champion, advising fellow healthcare professionals in best practice for assisting people with mental health issues.
Since Cher’s appointment, the Agincare live-in care service has seen an increase of support packages for clients with specialist needs.
Managing Director of Agincare live-in care service, Sam Mayes, said:
“I am very pleased to have Cher working with us as Clinical Lead, her many years of experience and expert knowledge are invaluable as we see more clients with complex needs using our services.
“Cher’s appointment to Clinical Lead marks an exciting chapter for Agincare live-in care service as it continues to grow and expand its national presence.”
Our live-in care service provides 24-hour care to vulnerable people in the community, allowing them to live independently as possible in their own homes through support from carefully matched, professional care workers. Since 2005, the service has improved quality of life, health and wellbeing for clients, whilst preventing hospital and care home admissions.
Unlike many other care providers, Agincare live-in care is a fully-managed service, with all care workers DBS-checked and employed directly by Agincare.
