Gainsborough Care Home makes the most of its coastal position, with residents spending as much time as possible in the garden. They are very proud of their home-grown vegetables and enjoy time in the lovely summer house.

Moving east from Chalgrove, we come to the third of our residential care homes in Dorset. Blenheim Care Home is tucked away in the quiet Bournemouth suburb of Talbot Woods.
People describe Blenheim’s team as professional, helpful and supportive; just what you’re looking for in our Dorset care homes.
Across the River Stour into Christchurch and we find Naseby Care Home, within easy reach of the historic town centre. Naseby is our smallest care home and has a consistent team supporting the residents there.
The team members pride themselves on their ability to help residents feel at home. Families talk about Naseby as a ‘home away from home’ and say ‘nothing is too much trouble’.
Out into the Dorset countryside, we go next to Waterloo Care Home near Wimborne. If you’re looking for a quieter spot, surrounded by a stunning large garden, with even more trees and fields beyond, Waterloo is the care home for you.
Despite it being the most rural of our Dorset care homes, there’s always plenty to get involved in, if you want to be sociable.
Onto Dorset’s county town of Dorchester, where the team and residents of our Cheriton Care Home (pictured below) will give you a warm welcome. Cheriton is the most central of our Dorset care homes and is easily reached from anywhere in the county.
Feedback about Cheriton describes the home as being clean and welcoming, and the care team polite and helpful.
As we started our tour of Dorset care homes in a seaside town, so we’ll bring it to a close on the coast too. We’ve travelled down the A354 from Dorchester to Weymouth. We have four care homes in Weymouth, all different but all welcoming.
Bosworth is a traditionally built house situated in an elevated position in a quiet residential road in Preston. Bosworth is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable home enjoying uninterrupted panoramic views across Weymouth Bay and Portland beyond.
Crecy Care Home specialises in supporting older people with dementia and younger adults with serious mental health care needs. The team really encourages residents to make the home their own, adding their own touches to their bedrooms, and to be as independent as possible. Residents and families say that the home is very welcoming and that the team members take time to understand residents and help them feel safe and supported.
Trafalgar Care Home (pictured below) is not far from Crecy. There’s plenty of communal space inside and outside at Trafalgar, meaning it’s easy to get involved with activities or find a quieter spot. The ‘considerate, kind and professional’ team members work their socks off to help residents feel well cared-for. They’re multi-skilled and are dab-hands at hairstyling and manicures.
Across the road from Trafalgar is Agincourt, the last Dorset care home on our tour. Agincourt was, in fact, the first Agincare care home, established in 1986 by Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst. The care team here has a wealth of experience in affordable care for people aged 50+ with dementia or support with mental health conditions.
Feedback highlights the high standard of care at Agincourt and the warm welcome residents and families receive.
