Live-in respite care

Staying with you for anything from seven days to several weeks, our live-in respite care worker will help minimise disruption to your routine and lifestyle at home, while your regular carer takes a well-deserved break.

Whether it’s helping you with personal care, preparing and eating meals or looking after the house and walking pets, or making sure you’re taking your medication at the right time, we have a live-in care worker to suit you, your situation and your way of life.

You get continuity of care from a friendly and experienced care worker matched to your needs. And your friends and family get peace of mind, knowing you are well cared-for while they take a break from their caring responsibilities.

What are the advantages of live-in respite care?

  • You get one-to-one, personalised support, 24 hours a day, to meet all your individual care and support needs
  • You can stay in your own home, alongside any family or pets
  • You can keep your independence and continue to be part of your local community, with your social life and timetable
  • Your support worker can support you to get the medication, nutrition and hydration you need
  • The companionship of your support worker helps prevent isolation and loneliness
  • Your support worker can take care of domestic chores such as cooking, cleaning and laundry
  • Peace of mind for family and loved ones, knowing help is at hand 24/7

We can arrange live-in respite care for you on an ad-hoc or a regular basis. We match a support worker to you through a comprehensive assessment and matching process done by people, not a computer. We take pride in our personal approach to arranging your support.

And having a live-in respite support worker in your home is a great way to see whether live-in support could work for you in the longer-term.

Respite home care

Staying in familiar surroundings while your usual carer is away, but where you don’t have room for a live-in respite care worker, our highly experienced and qualified respite home care staff can step in.

Together with your family carer we can design a package of care which gives you the level of support you need, and gives your carer a break. The number and length of home care visits is entirely flexible.

What does respite home care cover?

Home care can be relatively simple, like helping you get up and about in the morning, making sure you take your medication at the right time, feeding pets or helping you move around the house.

Or it could mean high-dependency 24-hour home care. Our service is flexible and we match the care and the care worker to you. Every visit starts with an assessment of what you need which puts you in control of the way in which you want care and support to be provided.

And sometimes it’s more social than personal care, such as taking time to have a chat or going out to the shop. We work with you and your family to get it right.

Our care services cover:

  • Providing personal care
  • Support with medication
  • Preparing meals and supporting you to eat if necessary
  • Washing, cleaning and shopping
  • Looking after pets, so you don’t need to worry about them
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals
