Motor Neurone Disease – care and support for younger adults

We are experienced in supporting younger adults with  a range of neurological conditions. Everyone’s needs are unique and vary depending on the progression of their condition, we take great care in understanding you and what support you need to live a full and active life.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) can cause loss of strength, difficulty with swallowing, trouble with speech and mobility issues. Our live-in care teams will assess your unique needs, your personality (what you like, don’t like, hobbies and aspirations), to match you with a highly skilled support worker.

As MND progresses, you may find that you require not only physical but also emotional support. Staying within your own surroundings not only allows you to stay near loved ones in a familiar setting, but also helps you to keep positive  and remain independent during some challenging times.

Working with your medical specialists, your plan will ensure you receive the correct treatment, whilst being able to live a full an active life. Those with MDN can face difficult decisions such as considering a feeding tube or a breathing tube.  Your assistant along with the wider Agincare live-in team will work with you and your family to discuss your options and find the best solution.

All our care and support staff complete the nationally recognised care certificate. Specific client needs-led training is taught by our training partner Training Now and healthcare professionals.
