Multiple sclerosis – care and support for younger adults

We understand how difficult a multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis can be. That’s why we’re here to help.

Multiple sclerosis is thought largely to be genetic, although it’s possible that it may be triggered by other causes, such as an infection. Because of this, MS can manifest in a variety of different ways. As a result, we prioritise personalising your care.

If your MS presents as one part of a set of needs, our Enable service is designed with you in mind. We have the skills and experience to support you. Our goal is to enable you to live as independently as possible, in the comfort of your home.

Because MS affects everyone differently and takes various forms, we don’t just focus on the physical effects, but on the emotional ones, too. We support you and your family to engage with the local community, support services and groups as you choose.

Our home care or live-in care options give you one-to-one support in the comfort and security of your own home. This is supplied by your carefully matched support worker, giving you control over your care.

Our focus is to actively assist you to adapt to and overcome any obstacles or limitations. We want to ensure that the important things in your life (which may include your employment, attending university and socialising) are maintained.

All our live-in care team members complete the nationally-recognised care certificate. Specific client needs-led training is taught by internal and external trainers and/or healthcare professionals. We also have an internal ‘Multiple Sclerosis Awareness and Management’ training programme.

We work with local and national MS organisations and our training partner, Training Now, to continually appraise and enhance training for our care workers. We do this to make sure we are supporting you in the best way possible.
