Residents at Agincourt Care Home in Weymouth enjoy a bumper social calendar

Residents of our Agincourt Care Home in Weymouth have enjoyed a bustling social calendar packed-full of activities, including trishaw rides across town and a bumper Rugby World Cup party!

Organised by non-profit organisation Cycling Without Age, volunteers have been taking Agincourt residents and their loved ones out for trishaw rides across the length and breadth of Weymouth, from Sandworld in Lodmoor, along the promenade, and all the way to the harbour!

The trishaw rides have proved hugely popular and have since become a regular fixture at Agincourt – much to the delight of the residents.

The rides allow residents to see all the familiar sights in Weymouth at a comfortable, leisurely pace, encouraging them to share stories and memories about the places that mean the most to them.

Agincourt care home resident Margaret (pictured top left), said:

“I had such a fun time – it was a great day out!”

The recent Rugby World Cup has also been a massive hit, with residents hosting a ‘watch party’ for the first England fixture against Argentina. Getting into the spirit of the game, the lounge has now been decorated with England flags and hand-made posters, ready for the match against Samoa!

Thrilled with all the recent activity is Agincourt Care Home Registered Manager Matt Dennis-Andrews, who said:

“I am delighted that the trishaw rides and the recent Rugby World Cup party have been so warmly received by residents and their loved ones, as well as from members of our care team.

“Agincourt has earned a well-established reputation for affordable, high-quality care and I am very proud to lead such an important community asset for Weymouth.”

Run by family-owned independent care provider Agincare, Agincourt Care Home is conveniently based on the Dorchester Road in Weymouth and is only a short walk from the beach and town centre.
