Putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising

Published: Thursday 3rd October 2019

With more than 2,500 care staff at Agincare we could think of no better cause to champion than the Care Workers’ Charity, which supports current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants, and online information and advice.

We’re a Partner of the Care Workers’ Charity and have pledged to raise £6,500 for them in 2019.

Teams right across Agincare have come up with some ingenious and fun ways to raise money so far. Take a look at these fantastic stories and pictures – our staff truly are amazing!

Extreme sports

In August our South West Live-in Care team raised almost £200 by completing the Mud Trail at the Dorset Adventure Park.

Cake, cake and more cake!

In July we held a bake-off competition at our Portland HQ. The cakes were judged on appearance and taste – it was a tough job but someone had to do it! And after much deliberation, the two winners were announced – congratulations to Sophie and Kelly!

Agincare teams across the UK all celebrated Mad Hatter’s Day in May in aid of the Care Workers’ Charity. From cake sales to fancy dress competitions, we did it all to raise funds to help care workers in need.

And in April the brilliant team at our St Peter’s Park care home raised over £150 for the Care Worker’s Charity by hosting an Easter coffee morning.

At the end of May our Finance Director, Owen brought in more than 80 home-grown plants to sell to the team at head office. All donations went to the Care Workers’ Charity.
