As a family-owned, independent care provider we possess over 35 years’ experience of delivering high quality residential and nursing care with a comprehensive network of homes nationwide.  Donna Lukoschus (pictured below) has been appointed as Registered Manager of our Nightingale home.

Derby born and raised, Donna has 20 years’ experience of working in care homes in the east midlands, starting in a part-time admin role and building her career to be a highly-skilled Care Quality Commission Registered Manager.  Donna said:

Nightingale is a fantastic care and nursing home, with great facilities thanks to the extensive refurbishment and renovation work. I am very excited to lead an excellent care team, and we’re all passionate about creating a warm home and community for our residents.

We have a wealth of specialist experience supporting people with mixed care and nursing needs with a real emphasis on person centred care based on the wishes and changing needs of each individual resident.

High quality care and nursing in Derby

Just like at all our care homes across the country, the Nightingale care team includes wellbeing co-ordinators who orchestrate a diverse and stimulating programme of activities, trips and opportunities for residents to socialise and enjoy time together.

Many of our care and nursing homes have gardening clubs where green-fingered residents can bring a splash of colour to the surroundings, or grow fruit and veg.

Events at our care homes include summer fetes, Christmas fayres and many other special occasions throughout the year to bring residents, friends and families together, and help place them firmly at the heart of the community.  Nightingale is already well-connected to the local area with a bus stop right outside, three parks at an easy walking distance, and the Royal Derby Hospital just a 10 minute drive away.

Our care and nursing homes organise lots of fun and interesting events for residents and visitors to enjoy as part of annual Care Home Open Week celebrations

The home features mature gardens, beautiful interiors and spacious lounges for residents to relax in, as well as more intimate areas to spend time with friends, family and visitors. And we know just how important family and friends are to the happiness and wellbeing of our residents and encourage loved ones to be part of our happy care home community. That means we don’t have set visiting times, and our door is always open for a chat. We host regular meetings for residents and families, and welcome feedback and suggestions.
