A Fareham care home is about to start a new chapter after coming under the management of experienced Dorset-based care provider, Agincare.
Cordelia House Care Home in Nashe Close (previously known as Fairhaven Lodge) has been bought by the next Agincare generation – Adam, Simon and Piers, the three sons of Agincare founder Derek Luckhurst.
With more than 30 years’ experience of providing high-quality, affordable care Agincare is a strong and stable family business. Cordelia House joins a portfolio of 19 other care homes managed by Agincare across the south of England.
Adam Luckhurst said:
“My brothers and I have all spent time learning the care business from the ground up, starting as care home staff and in the customer service team. Buying our first care home is such an exciting step for us, as we invest more in our future in the care sector.
“We’d like to thank the fantastic Cordelia House team for being so welcoming. Keeping the existing staff has meant we’re able to continue providing a great standard of care for residents. We’re looking forward to welcoming more residents as we work together to make it the care home of choice in Fareham.”
Cordelia House is a short walk away from a number of shops and has easy access from the M27, M3 and A3. The qualified and experienced staff provide care for people with dementia, mental illnesses and physical disabilities in a warm and homely environment.
The care home has 36 comfortable bedrooms (mostly en-suite), plus communal lounges, a dining room and conservatory leading out into the mature garden. Activities on offer include exercise sessions, arts and crafts, musical reminiscence, bingo and regular outings. Good, wholesome home-cooked food is essential at a care home, and all the residents’ meals are prepared by Cordelia House’s own cooks.
