Lansdowne chosen for fantastic community project

Published: Thursday 11th April 2019

The team at our Lansdowne Hill Care Home have been celebrating after being shown a huge act of kindness from Stanley Security.

On Friday 5 April a handful of the residents were taken to Afternoon Tea at Stanton House in Swindon, whilst a team of Stanley Security visited the home and built a fantastic new greenhouse. Not only that, the team also donated a huge amount of planters and gardening tools for the residents and staff to use throughout the year.

Tracy Brain, Registered Care Home Manager said “It was a really special day, I teared up quite a few times. When I asked why Lansdowne had been chosen, we were told it was down to seeing the care we provide after a few Stanley Security employees had visited our summer fetes over the years”.

The donation couldn’t come at a better time as we head into the summer months. Gardening is exceptionally beneficial for older people, increasing mobility and flexibility as well as reducing stress levels. A brilliant addition to an already outstanding care home as rated by CQC in 2018.
