‘Good’ News for Gorseway Manor Care Home and Nursing Home

Published: Tuesday 6th December 2022

We are delighted to announce that both our Gorseway Manor Care Home and Gorseway Nursing Home at Gorseway Park retirement village in Hayling Island, Hampshire, have been rated ‘Good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the independent healthcare body that regulates health and social care in England.

The unannounced inspection on 9th and 11th November saw the home rated ‘Good’ overall in a report published 3rd December 2022.

Most importantly, the report stated that residents felt safe and valued by care teams who took a genuine interest in their well-being and quality of life. Furthermore, the report noted that the views of both residents and their relatives were encouraged and fed back into regular reviews.

Praise was also given to the diverse programme of activities, in particular, a recent trip to an aircraft museum and a clay modelling session.

Registered Manager of Gorseway Manor Care Home and Gorseway Nursing Home, Janice West, was thrilled with the report:

‘It is really rewarding to receive recognition for all the hard work that we have put into Gorseway”.

“We remain a dedicated team on a journey of constant improvement”.

Agincare Homes Chief Operating Officer Tim Buckley was also keen to champion the Gorseway team:

“I am very proud of the talented team at Gorseway, they have worked tirelessly to get a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC.

“The report projects the positive and welcoming atmosphere that we want all our residents, their loved ones and our team members serving at Gorseway Park to experience.”
