Gemma takes on the reigns of Lansdowne Hill Care Home
We are delighted to announce that experienced care professional Gemma Brown has taken on the reigns as the new Registered Manager of Lansdowne Hill, our care home in the Wiltshire village of Wroughton.
Having moved to Wiltshire to join the Agincare team, Gemma has worked in the care sector for over a decade, most recently as Registered Manager of another care home in Berkshire that specialised in dementia care.
The long-held good reputation of Lansdowne Hill Care Home in the community and its ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating – the highest possible rating from independent health and social care regulator Care Quality Commission (CQC), attracted Gemma to the job.
Gemma had this to say of her exciting new chapter:
“I feel very privileged to be the Registered Manager of Lansdowne Hill Care Home and to be joining the Agincare team.
“I am passionate about upholding the high standards of care and ensuring the dignity, privacy and freedom of choice of our residents.
“I am keen to continue the excellent reputation that the Lansdowne Hill Care Home has built for itself.”
Lansdowne Hill Care Home provides affordable residential, respite and convalescence care. The care team themselves have a wealth of experience caring for older people with physical and mental health needs, including Parkinson’s disease and differing types of dementia.
Accommodating 46 single-bedrooms, residents can enjoy comfortable, spacious lounges that overlook the beautiful gardens, where pride of place is the traditional dovecote – home to a family of much-loved doves.
Lansdowne Hill prides itself for its active role in the local community: hosting regular events such as Macmillan Coffee Mornings, tea parties and barbecues in the gardens. Lansdowne Hill is also a keen participant of the annual nationwide Care Home Open Week scheme – opening its doors to build wider relationships with the public.
