Easter at Crecy

Crecy is getting into the spirit of Easter with lots of craft, eggs, hampers, flannel bunnies and beautifully knitted chicks made by Jane Wardle (Jane, they are amazing). Cherri, Martin, Angie and Faye all getting involved; well done guys.

Happy Easter and great to see that OUTSTANDING poster on display!

The Beast from the East

Crecy is situated just on the outskirts of Weymouth and being on the coast very rarely experiences snow but with the help of “Storm Emma” things were certainly different at the beginning of March This was Weymouth Harbour side on 2nd March; normally a busy place where people stop and have a coffee was deserted Chesil Beach which links Portland to Weymouth was covered in a blanket of snow This is normally a small lake between Dorchester and Weymouth but it was turned into an ice rink And Weymouth Beach was more likely to see snowmen instead of sandcastles!

Outstanding Crecy

The news we were all waiting for “OUTSTANDING”. The full report can be read on the Care Quality Commission Website. Letters of thanks and a little something to celebrate with were handed out to all members of staff by Simon Luckhurst, Operations Manager.

Agincare buys two Care Homes

Agincare Homes Holdings is pleased to announce the purchase of Tilford Park Nursing Home near Farnham, Surrey and Summerlea Nursing Home in Littlehampton, West Sussex, which took place in late December. Tilford is a 42 registered nursing home, with Fulford being registered for 74 people. Both are converted homes, which benefit from large purpose-built extensions and have been maintained to a good standard.

The sale of the two care homes was brokered by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, who have worked with both LRH and Agincare on previous transactions.

A beautiful poem from the wife of a Resident at Gainsborough Care Home

You've been the love of my life for 50 plus years
We've had laughter, joy and just a few tears
We have travelled a lot
Been here and there
And on the whole life was quite fair
Until the day you had your first stroke
I was scared and worried — it was no joke
Then Mr. Alzheimers entered our life
You didn't even know that I was your wife
You got progressively worse, your mind went blank
You couldn't remember things and to be frank

Compliments for Good Care

Today we held one of our Agincare Homes Holdings bi-monthly Manager Meetings & Development Days. There was lots on the agenda as always but headline issues included the growing number of written compliments we are receiving about our care provision (90 in the last 3 month period) and the increased partnership work with Local Authority, Health and Voluntary Sector colleagues - Falls Prevention, Complex Care/Behaviour management, Dementia, Reducing Hospital Admissions, Dementia Café and Over 75’s projects to name but a few.

Blenheim Care Home recognition for believing in good care

In a recent article in the Daily Echo (Letters to the Editor section), the daughter of a resident of Blenheim Care Home wrote thanking the staff and giving them the recognition they deserve for looking after her Mother.
