This week is the nationwide initiative from Championing Social Care, inviting communities to visit their nearest homes. The idea is to welcome families, neighbours, loved ones and friends – both old and new – to enjoy each other’s company. You can see first-hand what care home life is like, both for our residents and for our teams. With the event taking place across the 27th of June until the 3rd of July, there is not long to wait.
It is with great excitement that we’re announcing that every single one of our care and nursing homes is participating!
That’s each of our homes, all across the country, every day, all week long.
What to expect from Care Home Open Week
Your nearest Agincare care home will be opening its doors to the public for seven days of fun-filled activities chosen to entertain all members of the community; from our lovely residents all the way to adventurous toddlers. We hope that you’ll join us and get involved with our huge range of activities. Our Activities Coordinators have worked hard to create brilliant events schedules that show off the homes we are so proud of.
You can also look forward to cocktails, mocktails and canapés, retro singers, a variety of arts & crafts, yoga, meditation classes, pizza making, quizzes, coffee mornings and much, much more.
Each home’s activity schedule is completely unique except for Tuesday, when most of our homes will host a big sports day, and Saturday, when most homes will host a Royal Tea Party in their gardens.
Community means the world to us. Throughout the challenges of Covid-19 we have always gone above and beyond to ensure that loved ones can safely connect. It is because of our person-first approach to care that we were able to achieve record-breaking care home visits over Christmas, and Care Home Open Week marks another very exciting occasion.
What the week means for you
Care Home Open Week is a fantastic chance to strengthen communities, make new bonds, and get to know our homes. If you or a loved one is considering care, you will have a chance to see an Agincare home in full swing, and if you or anyone you know is curious about careers in care, it’s a great time to meet our team members. Come and see what a day in the life of a care home is like, and find out about our opportunities.
