She knows the home, on Weymouth Avenue, and its residents inside-out after being promoted from a team leader role at Cheriton, where she has worked for the past four years. Sam replaces Zoe Price, who has been promoted to care home manager at Cheriton’s sister Agincare home, Trafalgar, in Weymouth.
I love working at Cheriton Care Home and have enjoyed caring for the residents and really getting to know them, their families and friends. It’s a real community that we have here at Cheriton. I’m so very pleased be able to build my career somewhere I know so well, and play my part as the home goes from strength to strength.
Sam’s progression to deputy manager illustrates perfectly the opportunities on offer for anyone that wants to build a career in care at Cheriton Care Home or one of its sister homes by Agincare in Dorset or further afield.
Sam and the team at Cheriton Care Home are now recruiting people who share their passion for caring in a wide variety of roles, offering flexible working patterns with full-time and part-time roles.
We also have jobs available at our other care homes in Dorset and across the country. As well as offering competitive pay, £500 welcome bonus, free training, and other benefits, there’s also the job satisfaction of making a valuable difference to those who need care and support.
Sam wrote herself into the history books last December at Dorset County Hospital after becoming the first person in Dorset to receive a Covid vaccination (pictured below).
Her new role includes being responsible for Cheriton’s 71 bed home, on Weymouth Avenue in the heart of Dorchester, in the absence of registered manager Denise Chrippes, who said:
I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Sam into the deputy manager’s role. It’s a tribute to the fantastic job that she has done so far at Cheriton Care Home and is very well deserved.
She’s an absolute to pleasure to work alongside, and gets excellent feedback from our partners and fellow professionals. Sam’s appointment is a massive boost after a challenging year. I’d like to thank everyone that has supported us in the wider community, as well as the team at Agincare and well-being team at Our Dorset.
Denise, who celebrates a year at the helm of Cheriton this month, and her 20th with us, added:
The team here at Cheriton are all passionate about giving our residents the best care possible, it’s their home after all.
