Agincourt, our care home in Weymouth has been rated as ‘Good’ following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission – the regulator of health and social care in England. The unannounced inspection on 10 and 18 May saw the home classified as ‘Good’ overall and in all key areas in a report published 25 June.
Run by the independent, family-owned care provider Agincare, Agincourt care home specialises in the care of people over 50 years old with dementia and mental health care needs.
The report observed the home to be well-led and organised, with residents treated with dignity and respect – supported to have as much choice and control of their lives as possible. The families of the residents praised the communication with the Registered Manager and the wider staff team.
Agincourt has particular resonance for Agincare as it was the first care home run by our Founder and Chairman, Derek Luckhurst, in 1986. The advent of Agincourt saw the birth of a family company that is still growing four decades on.
Delighted with this report is Registered Manager Matt Dennis-Andrews:
The report itself reads beautifully and the feedback from both inspectors at the time was very positive stating that they said that they could see the changes made across the home.
