Agincare welcomes new roadmap announcement for care homes visits

We welcome the Government’s announcement to ease visit restrictions to our care homes from 8 March as part of its roadmap for emerging from lockdown.

Care home residents will be allowed to meet one regular visitor indoors and hold their hand, subject to visitors wearing PPE and being tested beforehand.

Throughout the pandemic Agincare already continued to welcome visitors by working with residents, their families and care home managers to find safe solutions wherever possible depending on individual circumstances.

Agincare Care Homes Chief Operating Officer Tim Buckley said:

Everyone at Agincare is passionate about making visits happen, so we welcome this announcement as a further step towards welcoming more and more visits in the future as restrictions continue to ease.

We know just how treasured visits are by our residents, their loved ones and our care home teams,  and we have already been facilitating safe visits wherever possible during the pandemic.

Vaccines are clearly the key to emerging from lockdown so that we can welcome more visits, which are less restrictive, to our care homes in the future as more and more and people become protected.

Anyone who would like ask about visiting an Agincare care or nursing home should contact the home manager in the first instance.

97 per cent of care home residents and approaching 70% care home team members have received their first vaccination with remaining people set to vaccinated as soon as possible.
