We are delighted to be chosen as the new on-site provider of home care at Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Dunboyne Court in Torquay (pictured) and Whitley Court in Paignton extra care communities in Torbay.
Our appointment follows a rigorous recommissioning process by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay Council.
The Agincare team will provide high quality home care, regulated by the Care Quality Commission, to support residents to remain independent in their own homes at the extra care communities in Torbay. They offer apartments and communal facilities for people of all ages with long term care needs.
We will work seamlessly alongside Sanctuary Retirement Living staff, who will continue to provide housing management, to maintain residents’ wellbeing through high quality and personalised care and support within the two active and vibrant communities.
James Pearson, Agincare UK Operations Director said:
Agincare is very pleased to be working in partnership with Sanctuary Retirement Living in the Torbay area, and, most importantly, delivering high quality care for residents of Dunboyne Court and Whitley Court.
We are delighted to create job opportunities as Agincare increases its services in the local area; and have already employed over 20 new extra care assistants in addition to those already working at the two sites.
Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Whitley Court is situated on Hayes Road in Paignton with easy access to the town centre and local amenities, while Dunboyne Court, on Marychurch Road in Torquay is located close to the seafront. Both communities provide apartments and communal facilities for people of all ages with long-term care needs. Sanctuary’s team will organise a programme of regular social events and run the onsite Taste restaurants, which are also open to members of the public for cooked lunches and snacks.
Di Pooley, Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Area Service Manager (South West), said:
We’re delighted to be working with Agincare to seamlessly continue offering residents at our Torquay and Paignton communities’ high quality, person-centred care.
Extra care is sometimes known as assisted living or sheltered housing. This is when a resident owns, rents or part-rents their own purpose-built home within a scheme that provides communal spaces and care support for them. Our services are commissioned by the local authorities and are available to people living at, or moving to, selected schemes.
Agincare is one of England’s largest independent care groups with 35 years’ experience of delivering high quality care in the community. We have a strong track record of delivering extra care, with services in and around Bristol rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Agincare and our partners, including local authorities and independent housing organisations, have successfully worked together to develop a truly joint approach to providing extra care services.
