Live-in care - affordable 24 hour care in your home

Whether you are seeking companionship or need support for complex health issues, such as dementia or palliative care, our dedicated live-in care workers provide an affordable alternative to moving into a care home.

What is live-in care?

Live-in care offers elderly or younger adults with care or extra support needs an affordable option to continue to live in their own home with 24 hour care support from a carefully matched live-in carer.

Our fully trained live-in carers provide a personalised service, offering companionship or support for a range of health conditions including:

Our care worker will need a bedroom and is entitled to a two hour break each day. Whilst they are on call for 24 hours a day, minimal interruptions during the night are expected.

If this does not suit your needs, 24 hour care or a waking night options is available.

What are the advantages of live-in care?

  • Allows you to stay in your own home, alongside any family or pets
  • Enables you to maintain independence and continue to be part of your local community
  • One-to-one, personalised support, 24 hours a day, to meet all your individual needs
  • Provides companionship to prevent isolation & loneliness
  • Ensures correct medication, nutrition and hydration
  • Helps maintain safety and security, including lowering the risk of falls, which can often lead to hospitalisation in the elderly

Avoid selling your family home

Having to sell the family home to pay for care is understandably deeply unpopular. However, if you continue to live in your home it can't be taken into account as an asset when calculating the cost of care. Therefore, with live-in care, your home remains yours to bequeath or do with as you wish.

Thus, the value of your home is not taken into account with regard to whether funding is available.

This is particularly relevant for people with combined assets amounting to more than £23,250 (the point at which clients become responsible for the full cost of their care).

How much does a live-in carer cost?

The cost of care depends on the level of care required. Low dependency live-in care (support with smaller aspects of care and day-to-day living), starts from just £795 per week.

We understand that you may not be in a position to pay for this privately, but funding may be available from the local authority or NHS to meet all or some of the cost.

Different types of live-in care

Our service is now available throughout England. We maintain a strong pool of trained and qualified live in care workers who are able to travel at short notice. They are supported by a network of regionally based staff and offices across the country.

Peter’s remarkable live-in care story

Receiving home care doesn’t need to mean hordes of people traipsing through your home, with long, lonely hours between visits.

Fifty-five year-old Hove resident Peter discovered an alternative - 24 hour live-in care - and it’s no exaggeration to say that it changed his life …
