Live-in care solutions to reduce pressure on the public sector

Ground-breaking, affordable, versatile and responsive live-in care solutions.

The public sector challenge

Our public sector partnerships are founded on understanding. We realise that our NHS and local authority colleagues in the health and social care sector are under considerable pressure as demand for care provision across the UK continues to grow.

With the number of people requiring urgent care and support increasing, not all providers are able to keep up with the demand for new care services.

  • Falls are estimated to cost the NHS more than £2.3 billion per year
  • Every minute, six people over 65 suffer a fall
  • Falls account for up to 40 per cent of ambulance call-outs for people aged 65+
  • Each ambulance call-out costs £,2301
  • Each hip fracture is likely to need hospital admission, at £5,744 per patient

Our live-in care solution

Agincare works closely with public sector partners, sharing knowledge and experience to create a host of solution-based, affordable, and responsive live-in care services. Today, 80% of our business is with local authorities through our public sector partnerships.

Our live-in care services are helping to increase daily discharge rates, increase patient flow into the community and reduce the risk of medically fit for discharge (MFFD) patients de-compensating in acute systems.

As well as improving people’s quality of life by supporting them at home, our unique offer brings with it cost savings and efficiencies.

Our professional and empathetic care workers support and encourage their clients every step of the way, respecting their wishes and dignity at all times.

Thank you for supporting safe and timely discharges for patients – your service enables patients to leave hospital and return home as soon as they are deemed medically ready.

– Discharge Services Manager

During 2021/22 our live-in care projects and partnerships supported 2,793 patients to be discharged promptly and safely into their own homes. This freed up 67,190 NHS bed days, allowing for more capacity in hospitals for crucial operations and to manage the COVID-19 crisis. Those bed days would have cost the NHS more than £22 million over the year.

What’s more, 100% of customers rated the service as ‘excellent’, and only 5% had to be readmitted to hospital.

Our innovative approach to reducing Delayed Transfer of Care (DTOC) resulted in Agincare being chosen as a finalist in the prestigious LaingBuisson Awards, which recognise and celebrate industry excellence and innovative services in the public, private and third sectors.

Block live-in care

A block contract, or project, guarantees the commissioner a given volume of contracted hours, usually over a set period of time.

The amount of contracted hours and timeframe is determined by their specific requirements.

Advantages of block purchasing:

  • Better rates
  • Guaranteed hours
  • Reduced risk to MFFD patients
  • Measurable, trackable outcomes over time

Spot purchasing

If you are not currently in a position to purchase a block of live-in care, you can still spot purchase on an ad-hoc basis. This is usually purchased by or on behalf of a single service user and is readily available whenever you need it.
