Palliative care at home

Palliative care at home from an Agincare live-in carer can provide support in familiar surroundings, allowing you to feel comfortable and secure in the company of those you love the most.

What is palliative care at home?

The responsibility of caring for someone with a long-term condition can be overwhelming. They may well need help with personal care and support, such as dressing and bathing. They may also need a variety of medicines to be taken at certain times in the day, as well as help with cooking and cleaning the house.

If you want professional, compassionate care without the upheaval of moving to hospital or a care-home, palliative care at home from an Agincare live-in carer is the ideal solution.

Our highly experienced and qualified live-in carers provide fully managed and regulated, personalised care that is tailored to your specific needs. They can administer medication, oxygen, and manage pain and all other symptoms.

They can prepare your favourite meals and if you have pets they will look after them too so you don’t have to worry. Friends and family can visit whenever they want without the restrictions of hospital visiting times and household tasks such as washing and cleaning will be taken care of.

Your live-in carer will provide companionship too and help with emotional and spiritual issues and any concerns you may have. They will support your relatives and can assist with any plans that need to be made.

We work with district nursing teams, occupational therapists and palliative care teams so that everything is tailored to your needs. We can also get prescriptions from your GP, or arrange a home visit if required. Should you have mobility issues we can also work with occupational therapists and provide an additional carer at certain times if needed.

Our rapid response approach enables us to provide emergency care within 48 hours if your need is urgent.

Palliative care NHS funding

The Government is committed to every person nearing the end of their life receiving attentive, high quality, compassionate care and for their wishes in their final weeks to be respected.

It may be possible to have the costs of palliative care at home covered by the NHS who are committed to funding care for those who need it in their final weeks and months.

You may think that you won’t qualify due to the value of your estate, but end of life palliative care is different and is generally funded by the NHS.

Training our live-in carers

Our live-in carers are dedicated to providing top quality personal care. We provide specialist training to ensure that all of our carers are entirely focused and able to handle any situation in a respectful and caring manner.
