Frequently asked questions

The cost of home care is dependent on the level of support you require. To give you an exact quote, we must first conduct a free, no-obligation care assessment which can be booked through our team of expert home care advisors.

Unlike other support options such as a care home or live-in care, where you are charged on a daily or weekly rate, with home care you only pay for the support you receive. That makes home care much cheaper than other care options. Live-in care for example can cost over £1000 per week while home care averages about £25 per hour and can be as little or as often as you need.

What’s more, as a fully managed provider, you don’t have to worry about paying your care workers holiday, agency fees, or retainers.

To get started, call our expert team of care advisors today to discuss your care needs and to book a free, no-obligation care assessment. They will take the time to get to know you and what level of support you require before putting you in contact with an assessor.

The assessor will normally visit you at home before putting together a bespoke care plan that suit your individual requirements. They will also agree a start date.

Once you start, you will receive ongoing support from your local office team in Andover and Salisbury and a designated Care Coordinator who will provide regular check ins to ensure you are happy with your care.

As your circumstances change, our home care service will change too. Whether that’s more visits, a move to 24-hour care at home from our live-in care team, or moving into one of our care homes, our team will guide you towards the best support for you.

As a fully managed service, we employ and train our care workers, ensuring there is always professional support there for you when you need it.

We provide mandatory training for all our care workers including modules on moving and handling, basic life support and first aid, communication, food hygiene, health and safety awareness and more. We also provide more specialist training to support people requiring specific levels of care, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, palliative and end of life care.

All of our care workers are trained by our in-house training provider, Training Now. They are experts in health and social care training; rated Good by Ofsted and endorsed by Skills for Care. In addition to mandatory training, our care teams have access to apprenticeships and short courses that enable them to develop their skills and progress in their careers.

Ensuring continuity of care for you is extremely important to us. That’s why your local Care Coordinator will work hard to ensure your care visits are allocated to an individual or small team of care workers; meaning they can get to know you and your care workers can get to know each other.

We also ensure that the care team supporting you have the skills and experience needed to meet your care needs as well as taking into account shared interests, hobbies and values. This means that, when you start your home care, you can be reassured that you will receive consistent support from a small team of well-matched, highly trained and compassionate care workers who truly understand your needs and wishes.

Our expert care advisors and local office team can put care and support in place within 24-hours. This will begin with a care assessment that enables us to understand your needs and wishes, as well as the number of visits and level of support you will require. You will then receive a bespoke care plan and quote.

Our care experts will put the care in place and will work in collaboration with health care professionals and local authorities to make sure you’re receiving the care as quickly as possible.
