Care and nursing homes for people living with Alzheimer’s

Many of our residential care and nursing homes are specialists in dementia care, caring specifically for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Agincare is a family business built on strong family values. Our founder and Chairman takes a personal interest in the way each of our care and nursing homes is run, to make sure they support our core values – a homely, warm and welcoming approach, high quality affordable care, choice and independence.

A home-from-home

Our aim is for you to feel as though it is your home, that you’ve simply moved somewhere with people on hand to help you. You will have your own private room which you can personalise with familiar objects, pictures and furniture if you wish.

Our care home staff take the time to understand residents’ likes and dislikes, and to listen to their stories and memories.

We talk to families too, so we can build an understanding of a person’s relationships and what is important to them. We pride ourselves on having good, honest relationships with people we support, their relatives and friends, although of course we respect confidentiality and privacy as required.

We are strong supporters of John’s Campaign, reflecting the high value we place on working in partnership with family carers.

Dementia training in our care homes

We empower our staff to develop caring strategies that reflect evidenced-based practice and follow national and local dementia guidelines and strategies.

We train our staff in a range of essential skills to ensure and promote people’s safety. However, we recognise their needs for continued and sustained leisure, social and recreational activity, as well as for their physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

Our specialist dementia lead nurse has developed a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Dementia Care (accredited by NCFE), in conjunction with Agincare’s own training company. This diploma develops and expands the skills and knowledge of staff working in Agincare care homes.

Our dementia specialist also holds dementia workshops for staff and care talks for local communities and relatives.

Why choose an Agincare residential care or nursing home?

With Agincare you will receive:

  • Person-centred care individually designed with and for you. We take the time to get to know you, your history, likes and dislikes
  • Expert personal care, 24-hours a day from compassionate and professional staff. We provide our staff with high levels of training and experience in Alzheimer’s care
  • Comfortable, homely accommodation. We continually review each property to make sure it’s safe, secure and well-maintained, but also a pleasant home-from-home
  • Daily activities to stimulate body and mind. Social and leisure activities are an integral part of care, helping you be as independent as possible while having some fun!
