Companionship care

Care isn’t just about personal care and home care. It’s also about living life your way, having as much independence as possible and feeling like a real person – that’s where our companionship care comes in.

We can support you with going to social events, on trips, shopping, doing hobbies, or simply meeting up with friends for a good old chin-wag.

There’s a type of companion care for adults of all ages. From young adults needing a bit of extra support at work, to older people who may feel lonely or who are worried that the upkeep of their house is getting too much.

What could companionship care help me with?

Maybe you’re looking for the support of a companion to:

  • Go swimming
  • Drive you to appointments
  • Come round regularly for a cuppa and a chat
  • Help you with the housework
  • Come into town with you on the bus for shopping trips
  • Run errands for you
  • Help you get to the day centre
  • Get you to work
  • Go for regular walks
  • Be with people who are like you

Types of companion care

We’ll talk to you about the kind of person and type of care that would suit you, plus how often you’d like support, and how you’d like to spend that time.

Everyone is different. Depending on the outcome of our discussions, we’ll create a bespoke companionship care package just for you. As an example, this could be:

  • Home care, when a care worker comes into your home on a regular basis to help you
  • Live-in care, where a care worker lives in your home, bringing you one-to-one support with consistent continuity
  • In one of our care or nursing homes, where you’ll have kind and friendly staff on hand, plus the companionship of other residents. There’ll also be activities and day trips, plus your meals will be prepared and your laundry done

Our care staff

All our care staff (whether that’s in home care, live-in care, or our care homes) are trained and strictly vetted, ready to be someone you can rely on, talk to and spend time with.

  • Although we’ve grown to be one of the country’s leading home care providers, we’re still a family-owned and family-run business
  • Our original guiding principles have served us well and still hold true today – treating people with care, kindness and dignity in the same way we would want one of our family members to be treated
  • We direct employ, train and manage our extensive network of care staff
  • We work hard to ensure people are cared for by the same care worker as often as possible to build consistent, long-standing relationships
  • All our care workers are enhanced DBS (police) checked and highly trained to provide a friendly, caring and reliable service
